Don't Let Price Stop the Sale: Deposits and Instalments Without Fees

Selling high-ticket items, custom products or pre-orders can intimidate customers if they have to pay everything upfront. Stripe Deposit Payments removes this barrier: your customers pay a deposit when they order and the balance later, or pay their order in instalments without fees. You make your products more accessible while securing your cash flow and engaging your buyers from the order.

Total Flexibility for Your Deposit Rules

Adapt your business strategy to your catalog. Each rule offers one of two plans:

• Deposit then balance: a deposit as a percentage (e.g. 30%) or a fixed amount (e.g. €50), then the balance a few days after the order, on a fixed date for a pre-order, or when the order reaches a state you choose such as “Ready to ship”.
• Instalments without fees: 2 to 12 equal payments, spaced by days or months, with no interest and no fees for the customer.
• Precise targeting: apply rules by product, category or across the entire store, exclude products and set a minimum or maximum order amount.
• Smart system: the most precise rule wins (product rules override category rules), then the highest priority.
• Flexible mode: offer the plan with the option to pay the whole order at once, or as the only way to pay with the module for your pre-orders.

The deposit and the payments take shipping and discounts into account, and each rule form shows the example of its amounts before you save it.

Fully Automated Balance Collection & Reminders

Save valuable time by eliminating manual management of bank transfers or cheques. The module relies on Stripe’s secure infrastructure for the entire payment cycle:

• Automatic charges: the card or SEPA mandate of the first payment is charged on each due date, with the customer's consent shown at the checkout. If the bank refuses or asks for a confirmation, the customer receives a payment link and the module tries again.
• Secure payment link: without automatic charges, the customer pays each payment with a link from your shop, which opens a Stripe payment page at the current amount and can only be used once, even without a customer account.
• Automated email reminders: thanks to the Cron job system, the module reminds your customers of each payment before its due date, then sends late payment notices that are spaced out and limited, and sends you a daily summary of late payments.

You reduce unpaid balances effortlessly. The payment methods offered are those switched on in your Stripe account: cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, SEPA Direct Debit, Bancontact and more.

Transparent and Reassuring Customer Experience

Clarity is the key to trust. On the product page and in the cart, your customers see what they pay today and what they will pay later, for example “Pay in 3 instalments without fees” with the dates and amounts. At the checkout, the option shows the full schedule, shipping included. This transparency helps hesitant visitors place their order, whether you sell furniture, jewelry, travel or services.

After the order, your customers find their schedule on the confirmation page, in the details of the order and in “My payments”, where they pay a payment early and change their card or account. Each step is confirmed to them by e-mail in their language.

Financial Tracking & Simplified Management

Keep an eye on your business with an integrated dashboard: amounts to collect, late payments and automatic charges of the next seven days, then the list of schedules with filters and CSV export. The module automatically synchronizes PrestaShop order states and, from a schedule or the order page, lets you:

• charge a payment right away or send the payment link;
• move a due date or record a payment received by bank transfer, cheque or cash;
• refund a payment, in full or in part;
• stop the schedule, with or without cancelling the order.

An edited order updates the remaining payments, a cancelled order stops the links, the automatic charges and the reminders, and refunds or disputes made in Stripe appear in the schedule with an alert. The “Health of the integration” panel checks the connection to Stripe, the webhook and the scheduled task.

Compatibility and Continuity

The module works with PrestaShop 1.7.8, 8.0+ and 9.0+, with PHP 7.4 minimum, and its interface, e-mails and order states exist in French, English, Spanish, Italian and Polish. Payments are made on Stripe's payment page: no card data goes through your shop. If your license is not renewed, payments in progress, automatic charges and links continue; only new plans are no longer offered.
